DESCRIPTION
The jewelry you buy only once
The solitaire is the ring that needs the least explanation and is the hardest to make well. There is no design to hide behind: there is a stone, four prongs holding it, and a circle of gold. Everything that can go wrong — the proportions of the bezel relative to the diamond, the height at which the stone is held, the point at which the band widens to gather it — is immediately visible, at first glance, and forever.
This Miluna piece chooses the classic path: a four-prong bezel, open on all four sides, sized to the diamond and not a millimeter more. It is the setting that lets light enter even from the sides of the stone, instead of reflecting it only from above, and it is the reason why a prong solitaire shines differently from one set in gold. The band remains clean, without pavé or decorations: a solitaire that has to share attention is no longer a solitaire.
The diamond
Natural diamond of 0.20 ct — twenty points — of round brilliant cut, the 57-facet cut calculated to return the maximum amount of light that enters the stone. Twenty points is the measure of balance for the solitaire: above you start to pay for the weight in a non-linear way, below the stone struggles to hold the stage alone.
Color G and clarity SI: what they mean
They are the two pieces of data that really count and are worth reading carefully.
Color G belongs to the "almost colorless" range of the GIA scale, which goes from D to Z. D is the total absence of color and is a choice from the laboratory rather than the finger: the difference between a D and a G, mounted and viewed with the naked eye, no one can distinguish. The price jump between the two, however, everyone distinguishes.
Clarity SI — Slightly Included — indicates a stone with inclusions not visible to the naked eye, which can only be found with a ten-magnification loupe. They are the traces of the natural formation of the diamond: proof, not a defect.
G and SI together are the combination that Miluna adopts for all its natural diamond production, and not by chance: it is the point where you stop paying for quality that the eye does not see.
New model
Reference LID4240 is a recent addition to the Miluna solitaire collection: a first-supply model, which arrives in the store even before being released online. On a solitaire, the design is by definition timeless — what changes, from generation to generation, are the proportions of the setting and the quality of the stone selection.
Who it suits
It is the engagement ring in its canonical form, and it is also the anniversary gift that does not need an occasion to be worn: the profile is low, it does not snag, it fits under a glove and next to a wedding band.
