A little over a century ago, in the 1920s and 1930s, watchmakers broke away from the traditional round case to invent square and rectangular variations.

IN FACT, IT'S NOT A REAL SQUARE
The Classics Carrée evokes the Art Deco style of the 1920s and 1930s, with its straight, taut lines and highly elaborate geometric shapes that escape the confines of the simple circle.

The rectangular case encloses a rectangular minute track dial, incorporating the independent small seconds at 6 o'clock. The small seconds is separated from the dial by a slightly recessed surface. All around, the hours are displayed in large Roman numerals, along a "sector dial" or "railway"-style minute track, typical of the Belle Époque. The same applies to the onion-shaped crown, a delicate tribute to the pocket watches that bracelet watches were slowly relegating to the past.
