Our designers have carefully selected resins and metalwork to best express the imagery of the cantica to which each of these pens is dedicated: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.

The Comedìa collection is yet another expression of Visconti’s love for the city of Florence, the cradle of the Italian Renaissance and a symbol of the craftsmanship that distinguishes our creations. THE “COMEDIA”
Dante Alighieri, born in Florence in 1265, is universally considered the greatest Italian poet who ever lived, as well as the father of the Italian language as we know it today.
His most important work, the “Comedìa,” later known as the Divine Comedy, is a masterpiece of world literature that explores the afterlife by journeying through Three Otherworldly Realms: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.
Each Realm is depicted with vivid and allegorical imagery that reflects Dante’s moral and spiritual vision.
Inspired by this poem, Visconti designers have created a new collection that captures the essence of each Realm.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THREE CANTICAE
To reflect the literary structure of the Divine Comedy, divided into three canticae, the collection consists of three different models: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Each model was designed with resins and metalwork intended to best express the imagery of its respective cantica: black and red with ruthenium finishes for Inferno, taupe and grey with palladium finishes for Purgatorio, and white and light blue with yellow gold finishes for Paradiso.
The three models are united by a special band featuring two strips covered in a hammered texture—a detail also found in the pens’ special metal section. Each band is then individually engraved by our artisans with the word “Comedia” followed by the name of the specific model.
