A slender figure flies through the air, with the soles of his feet facing forward like a fired arrow. It is an image inextricably linked to the name of Bruce Lee. The actor, director, philosopher and martial arts legend set a standard that is still aspired to today. Born in San Francisco in 1940, he grew up in Hong Kong and was from the beginning the embodiment of two worlds: East and West. Films such as The Furious Judge (1971) or The Furious Son of China (1972) and a legendary fight scene in The Deadly Fury of Chen (1972) made him famous worldwide. It was precisely the fusion of an exemplary physique, philosophical depth and a powerful stage presence that made him so unique and prompted Montblanc to dedicate the Great Characters Homage to Bruce Lee Special Edition precisely to him and, in particular, to Bruce Lee the actor. Bruce Lee’s birth on November 27, 1940, coincided not only with the hour, but also with the year of the dragon. A dragon also plays a fundamental role in the design of the Special Edition: a drawing of this mythological creature covered in scales, created by Bruce Lee, inspired the motif depicted on the fine black resin of the barrel. The ruthenium finish cone is embellished with a hornet flying around it, a nod to the television series that paved the way for Bruce Lee’s rise to fame. The talented actor nicknamed Little Dragon is honored with a refined representation of the Chinese character meaning “dragon” on the Montblanc emblem in fine white resin. The legendary outfit worn by Bruce Lee in the film The Last Fight of Chen inspired the choice of fine yellow resin for the cap. In tribute to the decorative frame of the original poster for the film The Big Boss, thin geometric lines outline the contour of its glossy surface. The refined textured clip of the Great Characters Homage to Bruce Lee Special Edition takes the shape of a nunchaku stick, while the cap ring resembles a bamboo cane.
