Description

Graham Chronofighter Oversize, Swiss Made automatic chronograph in steel with a case measuring 47.5 mm to 60.5 mm, including the trigger guard — water-resistant to 100 metres and fitted with sapphire crystal. The chronograph is operated not by traditional pushers but by the lever trigger mounted on the left side of the case, the model's unmistakable signature. Black dial with two sub-dials, large luminous numerals at 12 and 6, and an original Graham rubber strap with a signed buckle. Case back numbered No. 1355. Complete with original box and The British Masters documentation.

DESCRIPTION

The watch you operate like a weapon

The Chronofighter was born from a practical idea, not as a stylistic exercise. During the Second World War, RAF pilots timed missions with watches they had to operate while wearing thick flying gloves: traditional pushers, small and close together, were impossible to use. Graham took that problem and came up with a radical solution — a lever trigger on the left side of the case, operated by the thumb, with a long throw and a crisp snap.

It is the gesture that defines this watch: you do not press it, you pull it. And the lever, with its polished steel guard and exposed pivot, takes up almost a third of the side profile, transforming the case into something that looks more like a mechanism than an accessory.

The brand takes its name from George Graham, a 17th-century English watchmaker credited with inventing the deadbeat escapement and the mercury pendulum, and is produced in Switzerland by The British Masters SA — whose anchor emblem is engraved on the case back.

The case

Stainless steel, 47.5 mm in diameter, which becomes 60.5 mm when measuring the full size with the trigger guard. These dimensions are off the charts compared to any conventional chronograph, and that is exactly the point: the Oversize is designed to make a commanding presence on the wrist.

The bezel is satin-finished, while the sides and lugs are polished to a mirror finish, with a wave-shaped profile that follows the curve of the wrist. The trigger is mounted on a support screwed into the case, with a knurled crown at 9 o'clock — on the left side, not the right as is customary. Sapphire crystal. Solid steel case back secured by eight screws, engraved with Chronofighter Oversize, the The British Masters emblem and the number No. 1355. Declared water resistance of 10 atm, equal to 100 metres.

The dial

Matte black, with large applied luminous numerals at 12 and 6 and luminous baton markers in the remaining positions. Two sub-dials: the chronograph's 30-minute counter on the left and the small seconds on the right, both with white printed scales and red markings. Red central chronograph hand, baton-style hour and minute hands with luminous filling. Minute track on the periphery, GRAHAM signature below 12 o'clock and Chronofighter Oversize inscription above 6 o'clock.

The movement

Central-winding automatic, Graham calibre G1747 built on an ETA/Valjoux 7750 base: 25 jewels, frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The 7750 base is the most widely used and proven chronograph architecture in Swiss watchmaking — serviceable by any qualified watchmaker, with widely available spare parts. Functions: hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph with 30-minute counter.

The strap

Original black Graham rubber, with the brand embossed in relief on the underside and longitudinal grooves, secured by a GRAHAM-signed steel pin buckle.

Operating condition

All functions have been checked and operate correctly. The chronograph starts, stops and resets correctly via the trigger and reset pusher.

Transparency note: the watch has some slight dents near the crown and trigger guard, and marks on the case back. These are visible in the final photographs in the listing, which we have deliberately published in close-up and without retouching. They do not affect the crystal or the dial and do not compromise the operation or water resistance in any way. This has already been reflected in the price.
