DESCRIPTION

Imakos: the women's chronograph

Philip Watch, a brand founded in 1858, introduced a chronograph with a bold character even in women's sizes with the Imakos collection. The design starts with the case: a wide, softly curved tonneau shape in satin-finished steel, which accommodates a polished round bezel. It is such a distinctive design that the case back bears the wording "Registered Design", meaning a registered model.

The dominant feature is the chronograph. The two buttons on either side of the crown start, stop and reset the timing, while the sub-dials on the dial record minutes and fractions. In just 30 mm in diameter, there is room for three sub-dials and a date: a practical complication, rare in a women's watch of this size.

This piece is NOS — New Old Stock: it is not a used watch, but a piece that was never sold, remaining in our warehouse stock from the years when the jewelry store was an official Philip Watch retailer. This is evidenced by the factory protective film still on the case back, the original Philip Watch tag with the logo of the time and the price label with the dual price in lire and euros, a testament to the period of transition to the new currency.

The case
30 mm diameter stainless steel case, with a tonneau shape, satin-finished sides and a polished round bezel. Knurled crown at 3 o'clock, flanked by the two chronograph buttons at 2 and 4 o'clock. The crystal is sapphire, practically scratch-resistant. The shaped steel case back bears the oval logo "Philip Watch – Since 1858 – Swiss Made" and the engravings "STAINLESS STEEL – QUARTZ", "WATER RESISTANT 5 ATM", "REGISTERED DESIGN" and "8273960545". Declared water resistance: 5 ATM.

The dial
Blue dial with a soleil finish. The indices are applied batons, with a double index at 12 o'clock, and the minute track is printed on the edge. The three sub-dials are at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock; the date is between 4 and 5. The cursive "Philip Watch" logo, the words "CHRONOGRAPH" and "IMAKOS" and, at 6 o'clock, "SWISS MADE" appear on the dial. The hour and minute hands are polished batons; the central chronograph seconds hand is thin.

The movement
Swiss Made quartz chronograph movement, with a battery that has just been replaced. The quartz is accurate and requires little maintenance: simply replace the battery periodically. Functions: hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph with sub-dials, date.

The bracelet
Integrated stainless steel bracelet, with satin-finished outer links and polished central links. It bears the "PW" monogram. The clasp is a steel deployant with a safety button. The bracelet has never been worn.

Operating condition
New watch, never worn, in warehouse condition, with the factory protective film on the case back and original tags still attached. The battery has just been replaced: the movement works properly, the chronograph starts, stops and resets correctly, and the date advances.

Transparency note: the watch is delivered in our jewelry store box. The original Philip Watch box and warranty booklet are not included, and this is already reflected in the price.
